The Enterprise Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence team is looking for a self-motivated, creative and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a senior ETL (DataStage) and BI (Cognos) developer specializing in Data Warehousing and BI technologies. The candidate must have a proven track record of working with complex, interrelated systems and bringing that content together on Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) platforms
8+ years of full Software Development Life Cycle experience
8+ years of DataStage ETL and Cognos BI development experience
8+ years of UNIX or Linux development environment experience
8+ years of experience with writing SQL queries and stored procedures with relational databases
IBM Certified Cognos BI Modeler/Author
Experience working in all phases of DWH project implementation, Analysis, Design, Development, Testing and Production Support.
Experience implementing projects using like Agile/Scrum
Experience with the Cognos 10/11 Enterprise, Cognos Analytics, Cognos Transformer.
Extensive experience with the Cognos BI modeling and reporting
Experience creating Dashboards using Cognos BI
Research, evaluate, identify alternative approaches, recommend, design and code efficient and effective solutions for challenging problems ranging from small to large work efforts for low to high complexity problems
Experience on designing and building OLAP Cubes in Cognos Transformer.
Experience writing complex SQL queries against Oracle, SQL Server databases to perform data validations and Unit test Cognos reports.
Good Understanding of the Data Warehousing concepts
Comply with standards and guidelines related to the design, construction, testing and deployment activities as established by departmental and organizational standard
Demonstrate collaborative skills working within a project team of diverse skills and will bring communication skills including oral, written and presentation skills, creativity, and problem solving skills to a challenging environment
Partner with other developers and support project planning, technical design, development and solution deployment functions
Identify opportunities in business processes, system capabilities and delivery methodologies for continuous improvement as applicable
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Business, or IT
HR, Financials and Travel domain experience
Extensive knowledge of relational databases principles and structures
Experience with Oracle
An understanding of a variety of modeling and / or diagramming techniques, with the ability to create process flow diagrams and the ability read data flow and entity relationship models
Experience with additional industry standard ETL and BI tools
Advanced degree in Computer Science, Business, or IT
Ability to create detailed technical design specifications
Ability to lead walk through of design documents
Able to act as a lead developer responsible for the planning, completion and coordination of work activity for projects involving more than one developer
Experience working with off-shore resources
